Rythm/Rapuzel Study
Now that I'm finish with school the hard work starts. Currently I'm getting ready to put some animation boards together and need to work on rythm when drawing and also making it appealing with opposing shapes. Here is a Rapunzel Study I'm working on. The poses are studies of Glen Keane's work.

Head Study
60 Minute Digital Study on the planes of the head. I got rid of the TV so we'll see if I practice more or just waste time sitting on the couch and sleeping. hahaha I've done about an hours worth of sleeping so far. I plan on spending some time studying the anatomy of the face. Currently the cheek area is giving me problems.
Also I went plein air painting today at my old college (Bethany) I will post that oil painting as soon as I get better light to take a pic.

Storyboard process
I wanted to show the process I go through in creating storyboards. This is the first step of many for one set of boards for my final project. First I take regular post-its and black ball point pen (or sharpie) and do rough thumbnails of what I'm thinking for each shot. Each drawing is no longer than 45 seconds. These are just roughs to submit and they can be rejected by the director (in this case, me). So I don't want to be married to them. Secondly all the information required for the shot is written down.

Craig Chapel - Goodbye Bethany
The University where I earned my BA in Church Leadership (yep I used to be a pastor), is closing down. I went there this past weekend to do a couple of quick studies. Here is the one of Craig Memorial Chapel. I plan on doing a series of painting of Bethany. I will go back in the coming weeks to take some more pics.

Starting up again
Well here I am a year later trying to start up this blog. The problem, I am an overachiever and perfectionist. Well after talking to a friend of mine I'm just going to start posting a drawing everyweek to track my growth, become a better artist, and just to have fun (isn't that what it's really about?). I always here that my best should only go on the web. Well what if I'm learning and want to grow? I would love to paint like Sargent, create concept art like Sparth, or work at Pixar like Matt Luhn or John Lasseter. Well they all started somewhere and this is my start. After months/years or putting "it" off I'm starting to learn how to digital paint. Here is my "first" attempt, a 40 minute quick study. I just picked up a sponge and glass and went at it.
Thanks goes out to Jun, Yun, David, Gue, Kee-Keh, Hsin-Yao, Hana, Craig , Tomutsu, Zhoaming, Zim, and everyone else I'm forgetting; for the inspiration to keep learning, growing, and challenging myself. Special shout out to Pastor Don P for challenging me and room 314 for all the support through the years. Sounds like I'm accepting an award. Anyway here we go.
